Honor Magic 6 series camera details leaked just a day before launch

Honor Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro smartphones are debuting tomorrow in China. These are flagship phones from the Chinese brand, and most of the details about the devices have already been leaked ahead of the launch. Now a new leak just a day before its launch, reveals what’s supposed to be the camera specifications of the Honor Magic 6 series.

Honor Magic 6 series camera specs leaked

• The latest leak(via GizmoChina) comes from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station who revealed details on Weibo.
• The post doesn’t explicitly mention Honor Magic 6 but it says the specs are for upcoming photography-focused flagship phones.
• Going by this speculation, the Honor Magic 6 could feature a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom.
• The Honor Magic 6 Pro is expected to house a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 180MP periscope telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom.

There’s an Honor Magic 6 RSR slated as well, and this one will be a special edition in collaboration with Porsche Design Studio. The Honor Magic 6 RSR is also touted to be the world’s first phone with a 1-inch OmniVision OV50K camera. But details on this aren’t available yet. • A recent leakfrom Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the Honor Magic 6 will feature and a 160MP periscope zoom camera. It will also incorporate OmniVision’s 1/1.3-inch OV50K sensor for the primary camera.
• The new sensor is similar to the one found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and will also be powered by LOFIC technology, which is also utilised in OnePlus Open.

Honor Magic 6 launch timeline

The Honor Magic 5 launched around February, 2023 so it is expected that the new Magic 6 will also follow a similar timeline and will launch sometime around February, 2024.
