·        OnePlus Ace 3 China launch date (rumoured)

  • As per tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo, the Ace 3 could launch in China on January 4th. However, it will only launch alongside the OnePlus 12 in India on January 23rdunder the guise OnePlus 12R. Earlier this year, the OnePlus 11 and 11R were launched on the same stage.

  • Display:We are hearing that OnePlus Ace 3 will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED screen with 4,500 nits of peak brightness and 2160Hz PWM dimming. This could be a BOE X1 oriental screen that’s present on the OnePlus 12. So, you could also get up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
  • Cameras: The rear camera setup could consist of a 50MP main shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP macro module. Although previously there were rumours of a 32MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom also in the mix but then this was quashedby tipsters DCS and Max Jambor.Anyway, the front camera could be a 16MP sensor.
  • Processor: The phone could come powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC
  • Memory: It could feature LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
  • Software: OnePlus could launch the device with ColorOS based on Android 14 in China and outside China, the skin will be OxygenOS.
  • Battery: We could expect a 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging support.
  • Design: The Ace 3 could come with a metallic mid-frame and be available in grey, gold, and blue colour options.

OnePlus 12R camera, colour options details

  • According to reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (viaGizmochina), OnePlus has dropped its plan to use a 32MP IMX709 2X telephoto camera in the OnePlus Ace 3. The phone could instead feature a macro camera similar to its predecessor. Enthusiasts may not be too happy about this move as it was expected to upgrade the camera system significantly.
  • Further, the tipster says the device will feature a metal body with a glass back, which is a significant improvement over the OnePlus Ace 2/11R’s plastic frame.
  • The Chinese variant of the phone is expected to feature Gray, Blue and Gold colour options, but the global variant may miss out on one of these variants as per usual trend.

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Ace 3 will feature a 1.5K high-brightness BOE panel. Recent rumours have pointed out that it could have the same 4,500-nits peak brightness as the flagship OnePlus 12. The LTPO panel could also improve efficiency with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
