·        ColorOS 14 for OPPO Reno 8 Pro 5G, Reno 10 Pro+ 5G

  • According to OPPO’s timeline, the ColorOS 14 update has started rolling out for the Reno 8 Pro 5G and Reno 10 Pro+. Even if your device wasn’t on the beta programme, you should receive the stable update now. Since this is a phased rollout, it might take some time before the update reaches your device.
  • You should receive a notification when the update arrives but if it doesn’t you can manually check by going to Settings > About device > ColorOS version > Download. Your update will start downloading, and you can install it on your device. You would need enough storage space, and a speedy internet connection for ColorOS 14.
  • Other than Android 14, here’s what else is new with ColorOS 14.
  • OPPO had introduced ‘Aquamorphic Design’ with ColorOS 13. It is back on ColorOS 14 with new sound effects, colour systems, and interactions. There are ten sets of Aquamorphic-themed ringtones, and the Aquamorphic colouring system has been updated as well. There’s also a new GO Green AOD that has been designed to help create awareness about climate change.

There’s a new AI-powered tool in ColorOS 14 called ‘Smart Touch’ that lets you select text, images, and videos from the system and third-party apps. This update also adds a new File Dock, that sits on the Smart Sidebar, and allows you to share content across several apps. ColorOS 14 lets you separate the subjects from photos or from a paused video. OPPO has also upgraded Trinity Engine that helps manage the computing resources, the memory, and even the storage of the device. There’s also a new privacy feature called ‘Picture Keeper’ that aims to prevent apps from misusing permissions to access your personal photos or videos. This feature will require apps to always obtain permission to access your photos or videos. Key Specs
