iQOO 12 series RAM, storage, and more features confirmed ahead of launch

  • Update: iQOO has now confirmed some major features of the iQOO 12 series. The phones will come with support for three-dimensional dual stereo speakers, Hi-Res and Hi-Res wireless audio support, up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

There will be an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Reports suggest the vanilla iQOO 12 will come with an IP64 rating, while the Pro version will come with an IP68 rating. There will be the largest ultra-wide vibration motor. The iQOO 12 series would feature a four-zone heat dissipation architecture paired with an ultra-large area VC vapour chamber, which is 40 percent larger than the predecessor iQOO 12 series specifications

  • iQOO 12 Cameras: The iQOO 12 is tipped to feature a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor with OIS support, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide camera and a 64MP OV64B telephoto lens.
  • iQOO 12 Pro Cameras: The iQOO 12 Pro might come with a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary snapper with OIS, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens and a 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto camera.
  • RAM/Storage: The iQOO flagships are tipped to pack up to 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage.
  • OS: Android 14-based OriginOS custom skin might take care of the software side of things.
  • Display: The iQOO 12 series is rumoured to be equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3000nits peak brightness, and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
  • Front camera: The phones might come with a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
  • Processor: The phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.
  • Battery: The iQOO 12 series is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.

Original story: The iQOO 12 series is all set to launch in China on November 7th. The company already confirmed the vanilla iQOO 12 5G will debut in India on December 12th and will be the first phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Now, while we wait for the launch to happen, iQOO 12 has surfaced in more hands-on times. This time around the phone can be seen in Black and White colour options.

  • The vanilla iQOO 12 images have been shared by leaker DigitalChatStation on Weibo.
  • The design matches the renders shared by the company officially.
  • We see a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, flat edges and narrow bezels.
  • The volume rockers and power buttons are on the right edge.
  • There is a large square module on the back and this houses triple camera sensors. There is an LED flash cutout outside the module.
  • The back panel of the phone doesn’t appear to be made of glass, at least the Black colour model.
  • The overall frame of the phone is boxy and the edges are curved.
