Realme teases smartphone with periscope camera; Realme 12 Pro, 12 Pro+ specs revealed via TENAA

Realme is gearing up to launch its next number series, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. The brand is yet to officially announce the launch but there’s enough evidence online about the upcoming phones. The Realme 12 Pro series has already bagged TDRA and MIIT certifications. Now, the two phones have been spotted on TENAA revealing key specs as well.

Realme 12 Pro, Realme 12 Pro+ specs via TENAA

• Display:According to the TENAA listing, the Realme 12 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 2412×1080 pixel resolution.
• Chipset:The smartphone will be powered by an unspecified octa-core 2.2GHz chipset.
• RAM and storage:The listing also reveals there will be four variants for the Realme 12 Pro — 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB.
• Camera:The Realme 12 Pro is also listed with a 50MP primary camera, a 32MP secondary lens, and an 8MP sensor. For selfies, it will house a 16MP camera.

• Chipset:As for the Realme 12 Pro+, the TENAA listing reveals an octa-core 2.4GHz chipset, which is most likely the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
• Camera:It is also expected to house a 64MP primary camera, a 50MP secondary lens, and an 8MP camera. The selfie camera will be a 32MP sensor on the Realme 12 Pro+.
• RAM and storage: The RAM and storage options are also the same for the Realme 12 Pro+ — 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB.
• Battery:The TENAA listing also reveals the same 4,880mAh battery for the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+.

Realme teases smartphone with periscope camera

Realme has so far teased a new flagship smartphone with a periscope camera. This is most likely the Realme 12 Pro series. It has added a new teaser saying, “Beyond 200MP, Periscope awaits.” The brand is highlighting the periscope camera comparing it to a 200MP sensor, and how it doesn’t need to rely on such a high megapixel count.

Realme also shared two camera samples where one is a low-light portrait capture, and the other shows its high zoom capabilities.

The Realme 12 Pro series is rumoured to launch in India by the end of this month or in the month of February. It has already bagged the BIS certification suggesting a launch in India soon. Realme is expected to share more details about its upcoming smartphones.

Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to launch in China very soon and is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Recently, the phone was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark platform with an impressive score of 2.2 million. A while ago, tipster DigitalChatStation leaked the camera specs of the flagship. However, the same tipster is now reporting changes to the earlier leaked details.

Realme GT 5 Pro camera details (leaked)

• DigitalChatStation suggeststhe Realme GT 5 Pro would now come with a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT808 primary shooter, a 50MP IMX890 telephoto sensor, and an OmniVision OV08D10 ultrawide sensor.
• The latter is believed to be an 8MP sensor.
• The tipster earlier claimed the flagship would come with a 50MP IMX966 primary sensor, a 48MP IMX581 ultrawide snapper and a 50MP IMX890 telephoto shooter.
• This is a sharp contrast from the 48MP Sony sensor to a normal 8MP OmniVision lens.
