Xiaomi India has been drip-feeding the Redmi Note 13 series features through X.com to generate buzz ahead of the January 4th launch event. The latest information it has divulged is that Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. This should come as reassuring to its prospective buyers and is more important than you would give it credit for. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ IP68 certification: What it means

On the face of it, the IP68 rating certifies the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ to be water resistant up to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. The device will be resistant to dust particles too.

Based on its predecessor’s pricing, we think the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ could launch for around Rs 30,000 price or lower. Not many phones in this price range offer IP68 certification. So, Redmi offering this can encourage the broader market to also release IP68 midrange phones.

That said, you should note that even with this rating, water damage may not be covered in the warranty. The phone’s Chinese edition didn’t.

• Memory: It could come in 12GB RAM+ 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB variants.
• Cameras: On the back of the phone, you could get a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, on the front, there could be a 16MP front camera.
• Battery: A 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support could keep the phone alive.

The company has so far confirmed details like a vegan leather finish, a 1.5K curved AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, and its 3 colours namely Fusion Purple, Fusion Black, and Fusion White. We also know it will be available on Amazon and Flipkart among other outlets.

In China, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is priced at RMB 1,499 (around Rs 17,600) for 8GB + 128GB, RMB 1,699 (around Rs 20,000) for 8GB + 256GB, RMB 1,899 (around Rs 22,300) for 12GB + 256GB, RMB 1,999 (Rs 23,500 approx) for 12GB + 512GB, and RMB 2,099 (Rs 24,700 approx) for the 16GB + 512GB model.

While the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ costs RMB 1,999 (Rs 23,500 approx) for 12GB + 256GB, RMB 2,199 (Rs 25,900 approx) for 12GB + 512GB, and RMB 2,299 (Rs 26,200 approx) for 16GB + 512GB. We believe the prices in India could around the similar range.
