Xiaomi 14 Ultra battery details leaked

According to China-based publication CNMO, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will pack a 5,500mAh battery. This would be a significant upgrade over the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery. It might also result in an increase of the phone’s overall weight. The report says that Xiaomi wants to provide a large battery for its flagship, in a way to extend the camera sessions.

Besides battery, Xiaomi is also said to be working on upgrading the quad-camera setup from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. There are chances that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could feature a titanium body, similar to the special titanium edition of the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The flagship could also come with the HyperOS operating system. Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro ship with HyperOS in China but the company is yet to expand this to global models.

Like most flagships coming out these days, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra may also feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, Leica optics, an OLED display, and ultra-fast charging support. The handset could feature a Sony LYT-900 sensor with DCG technology. The main sensor could be paired with a 50MP ultrawide sensor, a 50MP 3x zoom sensor with macro mode, and a 50MP 5x zoom sensor.

  • Xiaomi 14 series comes with up to 512GB of onboard storage space.
  • An in-built feature gives up to 16GB of storage space reserved for flash memory.
  • This is available on the 256GB and 512GB models of the Xiaomi 14 series
  • The Xiaomi 14series launched in China last week. It features two phones in the series — Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. The new Xiaomi phones come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 120W fast charging, and the new HyperOS. There’s one more feature that gives additional storage space to the Xiaomi 14 series.
  • Xiaomi 14 series UltraSpace storage
  • Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro comes with up to 512GB of onboard storage but you can get up to 16GB of of additional space. So if you have the 256GB model, you can get 264GB of total storage space. This extra storage is actually reserved for Over-Provisioning (OP) that’s used to improve the performance and reliability of flash memory, according to a reportby GizmoChina. In fact, there’s usually more than 266GB of UFS memory storage in smartphones for OP.
  • Xiaomi engineers managed to use this extra space by rewriting the HyperOS firmware but without compromising on the phone’s performance, the report added. This way an extra 8GB of storage space is made usable for the 256GB model, and 16GB for the 512GB model. 256GB and 512GB already seems like adequate storage space but additional memory can be useful too.
  • This UltraSpace storage feature is however available only on select models of the Xiaomi 14 series. So you can get it on the 256GB model of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, and on the 512GB model of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. It isn’t clear why this feature is not available for the Xiaomi 14 256GB model.

The Xiaomi 14 series is currently available only in China. There’s no word on its global launch yet but the Xiaomi phones are expected to make it to other markets soon. Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also expected to launch globally as part of this series. The smartphone was recently spotted on the EEC certification website suggesting a global launch.
