  • A new Redmi smartphone has been launched in China. It’s the Redmi 13R 5G, which is actually a rebranded Redmi 13C 5G that launched in India just last month. This seems like a reverse strategy since Redmi phones usually debut in China, and make it other markets later under a different moniker. The budget phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery, HD+ display, MIUI 14 and a 50MP camera.

  • Redmi 13R 5G comes in a single 4GB + 128GB variant, and it’s priced atCNY 999 (Rs 11,700 approx). In comparison, the Redmi 13C 5G 4GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 10,999 in India. Redmi 13R 5G comes in three colour options of black, purple and green, and it is available to purchase in China.

Redmi 13R 5G specs

  • Display:Redmi 13R 5G features a 6.74-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass protection on top. It also has a waterdrop notch on top.
  • Processor: Under the hood of the phone runs the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor paired with Mali-G57 MC2.
  • RAM and storage: The smartphone packs 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
  • Cameras: In the photography department, you get a 50MP primary camera and an auxiliary lens accompanied by an LED flash. For selfies, there’s a 5MP front camera on the Redmi 13R 5G. Some of its camera features include HDR, portrait mode, time-lapse, and night scene mode.
  • Battery, charging: Redmi 13R 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery paired with 18W fast charging support.
  • Software: On the software front, it runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box.
  • Other features: It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, and dual SIM support.
  • Since the Redmi 13R 5G is a rebranded version of the Redmi 13C 5G, we’re expecting it to stick to the Chinese market. Redmi 13C also comes in a 4G model, which has a starting price of Rs 8,999.

After unveiling the Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro+ in China, the company has released the Redmi Note 13R Pro in the home country. The smartphone has a 6.67-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 108MP dual rear camera setup, MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, and much more.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Redmi Note 13R Pro is expected to be launched in India as the POCO X6 Neo. That is still unconfirmed and the company might come up soon with an official note regarding the India launch of these devices. Before that, look at the details of the Redmi Note 13R Pro.

  • The Redmi Note 13R Pro has a quite premium design and can be seen in gold colour but there could be other options at launch such as midnight black, and time blue colours.
  • The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter, flat edges and narrow bezels.
  • The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right edge. We see the SIM tray section at the left edge.
  • The USB Type-C port, single microphone, and speaker vent are at the bottom.
  • The back panel of the Redmi Note 13R Pro has a large camera island covering the top section of the back panel. This houses dual-camera sensors and an LED flash. We also see the Redmi logo.
  • The back panel has a unique gradient design and this looks quite elegant in the gold colour.
  • There is a 3.5mm audio jack, an IR blaster, and a microphone cutout at the top section.
  • The chassis of the phone has a boxy design with rounded corners.
