Vivo S18 series launch date officially revealed, design teased too

Update: The Vivo S18 series will launch in China on December 14th, as confirmed by the VP of Products at the company. The new lineup will come with Vivo’s own AI named ‘BlueLM’ because of the logo’s colours. ‘LM’ probably means ‘language model’. The phone will feature three cameras and a square Aura Light, which is the largest for a Vivo S model. There will also be a Vivo S18 Pro and Vivo S18e. The company will also introduce the Vivo TWS 3e earbuds. Vivo S18 series is expected to launch in China quite soon and the lineup might include two models: the Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro. A recent leak has revealed the specifications of both models, including the chipset, RAM and storage options. Now, while we wait for the announcement, Ouyang Weifeng, vice president of Vivo products shared the teaser image on Weibo and this reveals the design of the Vivo S18. Vivo S18, S18 Pro series design

• The teaser images show the Vivo S18 and S18 Pro will be available in brand new “Flower Like Brocade”, a colour which is inspired by flowers from the oriental artistic conception.
• The teaser images show the device will have a large rectangular-shaped camera module on the back, with the top portion housing triple camera sensors, while the bottom portion has soft light and an LED flash for low light.

• The front houses a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and curved edges.
• The back panel of the phone is also curved for better grip on hands. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right edge.
• The Vivo S18’s back panel has a glossy gradient design, which looks quite elegant on the hands.

• The Vivo S-series is China-specific but launches globally under the V lineup. We might see these models as part of the Vivo V30 series. The teaser images show the Vivo S18e complete design.
• There is a circular module on the back and this houses dual camera sensors and an LED flash.
• The phone has a boxy design, with rounded edges for better grip on hands.
• The Vivo S18e has flat edges and a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter.

• The Vivo S18 is rumoured to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which is quite new.
• The phone will be offered in multiple variants: 8GB/12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage. The internal storage could be further expandable via a microSD card.
• The Vivo S18 could feature an OLED display with 2,800nits peak brightness and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. We are yet to learn the display size.
• The Vivo S18 series could feature a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging support.
• There could be a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls.
• The Vivo S18 Pro will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC and a 50MP Sony IMX920.
• The Vivo S18e is expected to come with an AMOLED display too and probably a 120Hz refresh rate.
• There could be a 4,800mAh battery and 80W fast charging support.
• The phone will come with dual cameras and OIS support.
