Vivo X100 series global launch date revealed, X100 Pro+ China debut faces delay

  • In an unexpected turn of events, Vivois launching its flagship Vivo X100 series in global markets as soon as this week. The series comprises the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro devices unveiled last month in China. Further, a reliable Chinese tipster suggests further delays for the top-end model of the series, the Vivo X100 Pro+.

  • The brand has published a pre-heat pageon its global website confirming that the Vivo X100 and X100 pro will debut on December 14th. 91mobiles also spotted the same page on the Taiwanese website, indicating that the device will first go on sale in Taiwan.
  • The webpage also confirmed that the phones will feature the same specifications as their Chinese variants and come with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The series will be the first devices to make their global debut with the chipset while Vivo’s sub-brand, iQOO, was the first to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to the global markets.

·        Vivo X100 Pro+ China launch postponed

Digital Chat Station, a reliable tipster on the Chinese social media site Weibo, has stated (via Gizmochina) that the Vivo X100 Pro+ launch has been postponed. Vivo’s launch lineup for early 2024 will consist of another Vivo X100 series device with a flat-screen, Vivo X Fold3 featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300-laden Vivo Pad 3. Vivo is certainly on a fast pace this year as the brand is becoming the first to bring flagship chipsets to global markets. An India launch for the Vivo X100 series is yet to be confirmed but a BIS certification does indicate that both the devices will make it to the country soon. Vivo X90 and X90 Pro were also launched in the country with a slight delay, but the Pro+ model never made it out of China.   • The Indian and global variants of the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro were spottedon the Bluetooth SIG website by MSP. Both phones carry the model numbers V2308 and V2309. There’s no other information about the phones that we can get from the listing but it does confirm an imminent launch.

Vivo is yet to announce the X100 series launch for global markets but we’re expecting it to take place soon. The global units will most like carry the same set of specifications and features. In China, the Vivo X100 starts at CNY 3,999 (Rs 45,600 approx), while the Pro model has a starting price of CNY 4,999 (Rs 57,000 approx).

  • Processor:Both phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor.
  • Vivo X100 cameras:The Vivo X100 series  has a 50MP primary camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. It has a 32MP front camera for selfies.
  • Vivo X100 Pro cameras:The Vivo X100 Pro features a 50MP 1-inch main camera sensor, a 50MP 4.3X periscope telephoto, and the same 50MP ultrawide camera. This one too has a 32MP selfie camera.
  • Battery, charging:The Vivo X100 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, while the Pro variant has a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging as well.
  • Software:The two phones run OriginOS 4 skin with Android 14 layered on top. In India, it will come with Funtouch OS.
