·        MediaTek Dimensity 9300 AnTuTu score, improvements

  • Vivo’s flagship Vivo X100 series debuted in China with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The same will be making its way to global markets, including India. Compared to last year’s Dimensity 9200 chipset, the Dimensity 9300 brings a 15 percent improvement in single-core performance and 40 percent in multi-core performance.
  • The Dimensity 9300 chipset is the first smartphone chip to feature all big cores, i.e. four Cortex-A4 and four Cortex-A720 processors. Based on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm fabrication process, the Dimensity 9300 chipset in the Vivo X100 series reaches an AnTuTu score of 2,212,302 points. Even with these performance upgrades, the chipset is 33 percent more power efficient.

Vivo X100, Vivo X100 Pro: full specifications of the global variant

The Vivo X100 series made its way to global markets this week, specifically Taiwan and Hong Kong. With the India launch set for early January, based on our previous report, the Indian consumers will not have to wait for long. Here are the full specifications of the Vivo X100 series global variants.

  • Display:Both phones feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display with a 2800x1260p resolution, 3,000-nit peak brightness and 2,160Hz PWM dimming.
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor powers both phones.
  • Cameras: The Vivo X100 features a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto with 3X optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The Vivo X100 Pro features a 50MP 1-inch main camera sensor, a 50MP 4.3X periscope telephoto and the same 50MP ultrawide camera. Both phones support up to 100X digital zoom while only the Pro model supports 8K video recording.
  • Battery: The Vivo X100 features a 5,000mAh battery pack. The X100 Pro features a larger 5,400mAh battery.
  • Charging:The Vivo X100 features 120W wired fast charging while the Vivo X100 Pro features 100W wired charging alongside 50W fast wireless charging support.
  • OS:FuntouchOS 14, based on Android 14

With Vivo’s sub-brand, iQOO, being the first to bring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to the Indian market with iQOO 12 and now Vivo bringing the X100 series with Dimensity 9300, both brands are undoubtedly focusing more and more on the flagship segment in India. Further, a reliable Chinese tipster suggests further delays for the top-end model of the series, the Vivo X100 Pro+.
  • Vivo X100 series global launch to take place this week

  • The brand has published a pre-heat pageon its global website confirming that the Vivo X100 and X100 pro will debut on December 14th. 91mobiles also spotted the same page on the Taiwanese website, indicating that the device will first go on sale in Taiwan.
  • The webpage also confirmed that the phones will feature the same specifications as their Chinese variants and come with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The series will be the first devices to make their global debut with the chipset while Vivo’s sub-brand, iQOO, was the first to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to the global markets.

·        Vivo X100 Pro+ China launch postponed

Digital Chat Station, a reliable tipster on the Chinese social media site Weibo, has stated (via Gizmochina) that the Vivo X100 Pro+ launch has been postponed. Vivo’s launch lineup for early 2024 will consist of another Vivo X100 series device with a flat-screen, Vivo X Fold3 featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300-laden Vivo Pad 3. Vivo is certainly on a fast pace this year as the brand is becoming the first to bring flagship chipsets to global markets. An India launch for the Vivo X100 series is yet to be confirmed but a BIS certification does indicate that both the devices will make it to the country soon. Vivo X90 and X90 Pro were also launched in the country with a slight delay, but the Pro+ model never made it out of China.
