Xiaomi HyperOS started rolling out globally last month for select smartphones and now the OS has officially begun to rollout in India as well. The Xiaomi HyperOS is a new operating system for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones that will soon succeed MIUI. The new OS comes with under the hood improvements for apps, AI features, and minor UI tweaks.

Xiaomi HyperOS India rollout

Xiaomi on X announced the rollout for HyperOS in India through a dedicated page. It’s yet to confirm the launch date but the rollout is scheduled to begin this month. Xiaomi also announced the first devices that are in line to get the HyperOS update.

  • In India, Xiaomi 13 Proand Xiaomi Pad 6 will be the first batch of devices to get the HyperOS update. More devices will be added to the roadmap later.
  • The global rollout included eight devices — Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S, and Xiaomi Pad 6.
  • POCO F5 is also confirmedto receive the HyperOS update.

Xiaomi announced HyperOS in October last year as the new operating system for its devices. It will eventually succeed MIUI that has been long running on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices.   • In addition to minor UI tweaks, HyperOS also adds new lockscreen customisation options.
  • HyperOS is also loaded with AI features including AI-generated text through Xiaoai Input Assistant, the ability to capture text on Photos, convert doodles into paintings are also available on HyperOS.
  • HyperOS should also bring better connectivity on smartphones with the ability to share your mobile data with other devices, and receive notifications on big-screen devices. HyperOS also lets you use your phone’s rear camera as a webcam.
