The Samsung Galaxy S24 series launch date has reportedly been confirmed by the South Korean giant. According to a new report from The Elec, Samsung has confirmed that the new S-series flagships will debut on January 17th, 2024. While the company hasn’t officially mentioned it on its social media handles, the report cites an unnamed Samsung Electronics official.

• As evident from the image, the Samsung Galax S24 series will have the same front design as its predecessors.
• The standard and the plus versions have rounded edges, while the ultra variant has sharp edges.
• The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen protector has flat edgescompared to the S23 Ultra’s slightly curved edges.

• The protectors back the reports that said the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will have symmetrical bezels. This means the bezels are slightly thinner compared to the S24 lineup.
• While it is not evident from the image, the standard Galaxy S24 will have a slightly bigger screen and could be taller and slimmer.
• The Plus and Ultra models could be thicker than their predecessors

• Processor:All three models could come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU. But there could be Exynos 2400 SoC in select regions, probably including in India.

• A new feature, or shortcut rather, that Instagram is testing is a faster way to open the app’s camera. First spotted by tipster Alessandro Paluzzi, Galaxy S24 users will be able to access the Instagram camera from their phone’s lockscreen. This is a feature that can be turned on from Instagram’s settings, and it will enable a shortcut that will let you open the camera directly from the lockscreen.
• So this way you won’t even have to unlock your phone to open the Instagram app in case you want to use its camera. This shortcut will presumably be only for the Instagram camera shortcut, and not the app. But since the Galaxy S24 series is yet to debut and we don’t have screenshots of the feature, the details aren’t confirmed yet. Also, it seems like this Instagram camera shortcut is going to be exclusive to be the Galaxy S24 series.
• This might not seem like a major feature but it’s still useful considering how Instagram camera shortcut is one of the most widely used social apps.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series: what we know so far

According to recent leaks and rumours, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chipsets depending on the market. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, is said to come only in the Snapdragon version. Samsung is also tipped to launch its new flagships in six colour options of Black, Gray, Violet, Yellow, Green, Blue and Orange.

As for the launch date, it’s tipped to fall on January 17th at an in-person event in San Francisco, US.
