There are multiple leaks already on the hardware upgrades, design and specs. Now a new leak reveals an Instagram feature that will arrive on the Galaxy S24 series.

• Instagram camera shortcut on Galaxy S24 series

• A new feature, or shortcut rather, that Instagram is testing is a faster way to open the app’s camera. First spotted by tipster Alessandro Paluzzi, Galaxy S24 users will be able to access the Instagram camera from their phone’s lockscreen. This is a feature that can be turned on from Instagram’s settings, and it will enable a shortcut that will let you open the camera directly from the lockscreen.
• So this way you won’t even have to unlock your phone to open the Instagram app in case you want to use its camera. This shortcut will presumably be only for the Instagram camera shortcut, and not the app. But since the Galaxy S24 series is yet to debut and we don’t have screenshots of the feature, the details aren’t confirmed yet. Also, it seems like this Instagram camera shortcut is going to be exclusive to be the Galaxy S24 series.
• This might not seem like a major feature but it’s still useful considering how Instagram camera shortcut is one of the most widely used social apps.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series: what we know so far

According to recent leaks and rumours, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chipsets depending on the market. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, is said to come only in the Snapdragon version. Samsung is also tipped to launch its new flagships in six colour options of Black, Gray, Violet, Yellow, Green, Blue and Orange.

As for the launch date, it’s tipped to fall on January 17th at an in-person event in San Francisco, US.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra design

• The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a boxy design with square edges, as per the renders.
• The flagship features thin and symmetrical bezels with lesser curved edges. There is a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper.
• The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge.
• The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has quad-camera sensors on the back, including telephoto sensors. The lenses are protruding from the flat back. There is also an LED flash.
• The render shows the phone in grey colour but there could be other options at launch.
• Tipster Ice Universe, however, clarifies that these images are the closest rendering of the Galaxy S24.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra specifications (expected)

• Display: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is tipped to pack a 6.8-inch WQHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and others.
• Processor: The handset could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.
• RAM and Storage: Up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. There are chances we might also see a larger 24GB RAM variant.
• OS: The handset is likely to boot Android 14-based One UI custom skin out of the box.
• Cameras: The phone could feature a quad-camera setup, with a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP Sony IMX564 ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP Sony IMX754+ telephoto lens that offers 3x optical zoom.
• Battery: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
