OnePlus Ace 3 / OnePlus 12R design and colour options revealed ahead of launch

Smartphone brand OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus Ace 3 in China on January 4th. This phone will be launching in India and other global markets as the OnePlus 12R (alongside OnePlus 12 5G) on January 23rd. Ahead of the announcement, both the OnePlus Ace 3 and OnePlus 12R have been teased online, showing off their back design and colour options.

OnePlus Ace 3 aka OnePlus 12R design details

• On Weibo, OnePlus shared a sneak peek of the OnePlus Ace 3’s design in a teaser video.
• The video features a Sand Gold colour variant and focuses on the back of the device.
• A circular camera module is highlighted in the rear design.
• On the right side, there are a volume rocker and a power key.
• The left edge of the OnePlus Ace 3 / OnePlus 12R includes an alert slider.

• The top edge seems to house a microphone, an IR blaster, and a speaker hole.
• The teaser does not reveal the front design of the OnePlus Ace 3.
• Earlier reports mentioned that the OnePlus Ace 3 might feature a metallic mid-frame.
• Additionally, the OnePlus 12R was teased as well in Black and Blue colour options, courtesy of industry insider Ishan Agarwal. This is in addition to the Green colourway that was revealed a while back. It’s unclear if the OnePlus 12R will get the Gold colour option seen on the OnePlus Ace 3.

·        OnePlus Ace 3 China launch date (rumoured)

• As per tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo, the Ace 3 could launch in China on January 4th. However, it will only launch alongside the OnePlus 12 in India on January 23rdunder the guise OnePlus 12R. Earlier this year, the OnePlus 11 and 11R were launched on the same stage.

• Display:We are hearing that OnePlus Ace 3 will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED screen with 4,500 nits of peak brightness and 2160Hz PWM dimming. This could be a BOE X1 oriental screen that’s present on the OnePlus 12. So, you could also get up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
• Cameras: The rear camera setup could consist of a 50MP main shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP macro module. Although previously there were rumours of a 32MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom also in the mix but then this was quashedby tipsters DCS and Max Jambor.Anyway, the front camera could be a 16MP sensor.
