Following the POCO M6 5G launch in India, the company now seems to be gearing up to announce its mid-range POCO X6 series in the country. POCO has subtly teased the phones’ arrival via its official social media account on X (formerly known as Twitter). The series will most likely include a couple of models, namely POCO X6 and X6 Pro, much like last year’s POCO X5 series. Here’s everything we know so far:

POCO X6 India launch teased

• Himanshu Tandon teased the POCO X6 India launch on Twitter.
• The post on X (formerly Twitter) reads, “Happy Xmas Everyone. Santa is coming with the gift soon.”
• While the POCO India head hasn’t explicitly mentioned POCO X6 anywhere in the post, the image posted highlights the letter ‘X’.
• This is an indication that the POCO X6 series is indeed headed to India.
• While Himanshu hasn’t revealed the launch timeline or date, recent leaks have suggested the POCO X6 will be heading to India around January.
• The POCO X6 Pro is believed to be a rebrandof the Redmi K70e, while the POCO X6 will be a rebadge of the Redmi Note 13 Pro.

Considering the POCO X6 series and POCO X6 Pro are rebrand of Redmi smartphones, here are their expected specifications

• Display:The phones are believed to sport a 6.67-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 12-bit colour, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits.
• Chipset:The POCO X6 series Pro will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC, while the standard model could get the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.
• Rear cameras:The POCO X6series could get a 200MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary sensor and a 2MP triplet, and on the front, there is a 16MP selfie shooter.
• While the vanilla POCO X6 series Pro has a 64MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.
• Front camera:There could be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies.
• Storage:Up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB internal storage.

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K70 series in China a few weeks ago, and since then there have been reports that the upcoming POCO X6 series Pro 5G might be a rebranded version of the recently launched Redmi K70e.

A new report now hints at some key details, including the chipset, and global as well as India launch timeline of the upcoming phone, which is said to be next year. Here are more details about the POCO X6 Pro 5G.

POCO X6 Pro 5G global/ India launch timeline

• As per a report by Xiaomiui, the company is getting ready to unveil the POCO X6 Pro 5G at a launch event in January 2024.
• The countdown for the global market release has started, with the expected launch date in the last week of January.
• The report mentioned that the phone will also be introduced in India, making it available for users in all regions to purchase the POCO X6 series  Pro 5G.
• However, it is worth mentioning that the company is yet to reveal the launch date officially in the coming weeks

• The POCO X6 series Pro 5G will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 chipset.
• The upcoming POCO phone will feature the HyperOS interface based on Android 14.

As per a recent report, the FCC listing revealed that the POCO X6 Pro will be available in two storage configurations – 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. Notably, it also stated the presence of 67W fast charging support. Additionally, the upcoming smartphone will be equipped with 5G capabilities and NFC support.
