The Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is Samsung’s top-of-the-line phone for the year, is expected to drop a major design element that we’ve seen in Samsung phones for at least eight years now.   • While we’ve already seen multiple images of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, this is the first time we’re seeing the device in action in a video. The leak shows off the flat display of the device up-close and confirms that Samsung is indeed giving up on curved displays for its flagship devices.

The move is not surprising but might disappoint some loyal fans. Curved displays were mostly an aesthetic addition to phones, resulting in durability issues. Curved screens are prone to cracks, and a screen protector is harder to find. Further, curved displays also result in the phone having a thinner frame. Even though Samsung and GooglSamsung Galaxy S24 Ultrae flagship phones have been moving away from curved displays, Chinese smartphone makers continue to offer it on their latest phones. Recent examples would be the Vivo X100 Pro, OPPO Find X7 Ultra and the OnePlus 12. Meanwhile, brands like Xiaomi and HONOR are going a step ahead and opting for quad-curved displays. Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note 13 series has brought curved displaySamsung Galaxy S24 Ultras to its midrange phones in India for the first time.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series will launch globally on February 17th. A physical event will take place in the US. The South Korean conglomerate has already started taking pre-reservations for the series in India. It is expected to be on sale just a week after the launch event as the company focuses on improving its Q1 2024 revenues.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra  is debuting on January 17th. The flagship lineup will most likely include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. This time too, Samsung is said to use both the Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets for the Galaxy S24 series. But the Indian variants might just get the better of the two, according to a new leak.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series Indian variant chipset leaked

  • Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 models in India.
  • According to tipsterTarun Vats, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in India.
  • The vanilla Galaxy S24 will feature the in-house Exynos 2400 chipset, the tipster added. This isn’t official but the tipster alleges the information is 99 percent confirmed but only for India.
  • The Indian variants have always received the Exynos models except for the Galaxy S23 series, which used only the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
  • This is good news for Indian users as the Snapdragon models have been proven to perform better than their Exynos counterparts.

Samsung has so far teased Galaxy AI set to arrive with the Galaxy S24 series. There have been leaks suggesting several and powerful AI features for the Galaxy S24 series.

The latest leak comes shortly after colour options for the Galaxy S24 Indian variants were leaked. The Galaxy S24 is reportedly getting three colour options of Black, Gray, Yellow, and Violet. The GSamsung Galaxy S24 Ultraalaxy S24+ is said to launch in Black and Violet colours. As for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, this one is tipped to launch in Titanium/Gray, Black, Yellow and Violet colours. Samsung is also reportedly launch online exclusive colour options in Orange, Green and Blue for all three models.
