We have gotten our hands on the smartphone’s live image which also reveals an AnTuTu score of over 240,000, which looks impressive for a phone under Rs 7,000. • Tecno POP 8 has been spotted running the AnTuTu benchmark with a score of 2,40,205. The image shows only the front of the phone with a punch-hole display. As for the launch, the Tecno POP 8 is arriving in India soon, according to industry sources. There are no details yet regarding the launch date but we’re expecting more information to be revealed soon.

Tecno last launched the POP 7 Pro smartphone in India earlier this year in February. The next to join will be the POP 8. Since the smartphone has already been made official, we know its design, specifications and features. Tecno POP 8 specs (global variant)

• Display:features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a centrally-aligned punch-hole selfie camera.
• Processor: Under the hood of the phone runs the Unisoc T606 processor.
• RAM and storage: It comes in three RAM and storage variants of 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB.
• Cameras: sports a dual-camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor and an AI lens, and an 8MP front camera for selfies.
• Battery, charging:The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support via a USB Type-C port.
• Software:On the software front, the Tecno POP 8 runs Android 13 (Go edition) out-of-the-box.
• Other features:It comes with 4G LTE, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, FM, and extended RAM.
• Colour options: Tecno POP 8 has four colour options to choose from — Mystery White, Alpenglow Gold, Magic Skin, and Gravity Black.

• As per a reportby PTI, Tecno Mobile India CEO Arijeet Talapatra said that Tecno aims to secure a position among the top five smartphone brands in the Indian market by the year 2024.
• The CEO announced intentions to launch 24 new smartphone models in 2024. Also, half of these models are anticipated to support 5G technology.
• As per the report, Tecno observed a rise in the average selling price of its phones from Rs 11,000-12,000 in January 2023 to Rs 18,000-19,000 by December 2023.
• There is a strategic focus on significant expansion in the Rs 15,000 and above segment, aiming to sell 1.5 million handsets in 2024, a notable increase from the 7.5 lakh units sold in 2023.
• Currently standing at the sixth position, the executive noted that the company has experienced a notable transition towards premiumisation in recent periods.

Tecno smartphones

Tecno recently launched two new smartphones Tecno Spark Go 2024 and Tecno Phantom V Flip in India. Launched at a starting price of Rs 6,699, the Tecno Spark Go 2024 is an entry-level smartphone that features a 6.56-inch HD+ Dot-in display that boasts a standard 90Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 13MP primary camera and a secondary AI lens. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 10W charging technology. On the other hand, the Tecno Phantom V Flip is a premium flip-style phone featuring a 6.9-inch FHD+ Flexible AMOLED Display with minimal bezels. It incorporates a 1.32-inch Circular AMOLED sub-display.

The phone boasts a 64MP RGBW primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens on the rear, along with a 32MP front shooter. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 Processor paired with a Mali-G77 GPU and houses a 4,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
